Second Time Moms Club

A woman with dark hair, wearing a beige blouse, holds a newborn baby in her arms while a young girl with blonde hair, wearing a striped shirt, looks at the baby, all sitting on a gray couch in a well-lit room.

Who it's for

Second- and third-time moms whose newest baby is 0–4 months old. We group moms whose babies are within a few months of each other so conversations stay relevant.

Why a separate group for second-time moms

Because second-baby motherhood is different. The exhaustion is different. The mom-guilt is different. The relationship with your older child is different. The way your partner shows up is different. The way your friends respond is different — sometimes a little bit, sometimes a lot.

And the things you didn't expect the first time around get replaced by a whole new set of things you didn't expect this time around.

What you can expect

Each group meets for 75 minutes a week, for six weeks. Marah leads each session, and the conversations tend to focus on:

  • Mom guilt

  • How postpartum feels different (or similar) the second time

  • Marriage and partnership when there are now two kids in the equation

  • The grief that sometimes comes with the end of being a one-kid family

  • The joy of watching your kids meet each other

What's shared in the group stays in the group. We're a small, intentional space.

Logistics

  • Six weekly 75-minute sessions

  • Babies welcome (and expected!)

  • In-person in Arlington Center

  • Small group — 6-8 moms per group
